  • FAQs
    • How many times per week do the teams practice? Your coach determines practice days/times, but typically 1-2 practices a week
    • Where are games held and what day of the week are games? Games will be held Friday evenings for some divisions but mostly Saturdays usually between 8am-12pm at Borchard Community Center or Dos Vientos Community Center. Championship games are held typically at the same places you play your games at regularly.
    • What is a typical season? Evaluations kick off usually in October, right after make up evaluations teams are drafted and coaches tend to start practices in early November. Games start right after the Thanksgiving holiday and we usually wrap up the season in February/March
    • How are teams divided up? Teams are divided up by grade level (example 3rd/4th grade division)
    • What are evaluations? We host evaluations where volunteers and coaches evaluate each player so when coaches draft their teams the teams are as balanced as possible. Evaluations usually entail a couple drills (dribbling and shooting) and then they usually participate in a 3 on 3 scrimmage within their division. All takes about 20-30 minutes. Evaluations kick off 10/11/25 and makeup evals are 10/19/2025
    • Where are evaluations held? Evaluations are usually held at Borchard Community Center, please check back on the website here or follow us on social media to learn more about the call time for your division
    • Are there different basketball sizes needed for each division? Yes!
      • Boys and Girls 1/2 and 3/4 use a 27.5 size ball
      • Boys 5/6, Girls 5/6 and Girls 7/8 use a 28.5 size ball
      • Boys 7/8 and HS Boys use a 29.5 size ball
    • Can players wear stud earrings during games? Yes but they are required to cover them with athletic tape or band aids. If they can take them out they should.
    • Can kindergartners enroll in the youngest division? If the player could be in first grade they should be OK. If they are a young kindergartner then we would recommend waiting a year. If you're on the fence we welcome you to attend the player evaluations and see how they feel against the other players in their division.
